Pallet bed update

Ok, sorry I haven't posted in awhile but I have been steadily working on this bed that I am so desperately trying to get done, whew, it is no easy task let me tell ya lol. Anyway what started out as a pallet bed has now turned into a hand built platform bed. My husband had gotten some pallets for me from his work, the ones they buy to use for shipments so here I thought they were going to be good ones, ha was I wrong, they were not straight at all, the slats didn't line up, I just was not happy with that at all so I decided ok, I will just make my own pallets and then it turned into, ok I like this idea better

Using 1x4's and butting them up together instead of leaving the gap in between like you would normally get with a pallet.

Well in the middle of all the indecisiveness the finish nailer quit working, we just barely got the frame put together but my husband managed to keep getting it to work again long enough to finish that part of it anyway. So the boards you see on the bed are not nailed on there they are just sitting up there, we had to do something so we could put our daughters mattress on it. So after all this & sanding pallets for no reason, I even had my 17yr. Old son out there helping me sand (cuz I didn't end up using them) sanding, priming, painting, light sanding, and painting again, 24- 1x4's, my husband says " I think you should of just went with plywood if you we're gonna do it like that" and my husband usually being the one with the better judgement talked me into it so another trip to Lowes, at least my husband was nice enough to buy me the premium birch plywood, the stuff that cost $50/sheet & we had to buy 2 of them, man this bed is getting expensive. So now I have been priming & painting the plywood & will hopefully be ready by the weekend to put this thing together before it costs us anymore money lol. The part for my husbands finish nailer came in today too so yay just in time for the weekend. I will keep everyone posted and post some pictures after it is all finished.

Trying to make a pallet bed

Okay so today has been a very frustrating day, I have been working on a pallet bed for about the last 3wks. For my daughters room, Well I decided to lay them all out today just to get an idea on how I was going to assemble the bed & that was when I realized that the boards on the pallets don't line up & some of the boards are crooked, now I don't know if that is how they're supposed to be or not but I didn't like that so my next step is, I guess I'm going to have to build my own from scratch, thinking about using 2x6's & 1x4's instead of the 2x4's like a regular pallet then I will be able to build it exactly how I want it! I will have to let you all know how it goes & maybe, possibly may be able to post a tutorial on how to build your own. Just so everyone knows, the pallet furniture is alot harder to build than I had thought it would be, mostly the sanding is the biggest pain & not being able to get the cross boards (the 1x4's) to line up!

Cleaning out the craft room

We have way to much work that needs to be done around our house ( thats what we get for owning a house from the mid to late 1800's) so I just dont have the time to do crafting anymore so that is why I am in the process of cleaning out my craft room & getting rid of everything, need to make room for everything else.
This would be the Expression 2 only had this for about 4 months mostly used it to make some things for a craft fair back in March, haven't used it since.
These are the 2 cartridges that came pre loaded on the expression 2
4 more cartridges for the Expression 2 machine.
Cricut tool kit, I also have the cricut spatula, just forgot to take a picture of it.
                       11 sheet of 12x24 vinyl & 1 sheet of 12x24 transfer tape.
These are extra end caps if you wanna change out the color, they could also be spray       painted in a different color, which was what I was going to do just never did.
And this is the Expression 2 turned on.
If anyone is interested please contact me, I need to get rid of this stuff A.S.A.P. I will also be posting more things from my craft stash. *I forgot to mention that the Expression 2 machine also comes with 2 brand new 12x24 cutting mats & 1 used 12x12 cutting mat.* Guess I didn't get pics of them either (man Im horrible, Lol)
